Members of Christian Outreach Armenian Church recently visited the Ararat Home Adult Care Center to spend a special time of Christian fellowship, encouragement, and worship with our seniors. The visit provided an opportunity to share God’s love, enjoy warm and meaningful fellowship, and remind our elders that they are loved, precious, and never forgotten.
During the gathering, the church’s Lead Pastor, Rev. Hovhannes Hovsepyan, delivered a message on the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, based on Matthew 17:1–8. He explained that although the disciples already knew who Jesus was and had recognized Him as the Christ, it was on the Mount of Transfiguration that they came face to face with His divine majesty and glory. There, Christ revealed that He was not merely a teacher or a prophet, but the eternal and glorious Son of God.
Rev. Hovsepyan emphasized that we, too, must come to know the glory of Christ and understand the purpose for which He came into this world. Jesus came to save us from sin, reconcile us to God, and grant eternal life to all who believe in Him. To be saved through Christ, it is not enough merely to know certain facts about Him. We must recognize who He truly is, understand His saving mission, believe in Him, and follow Him.
The Gospel passage also records the voice of the Father speaking from heaven: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” This divine command was given to the disciples, but it is also directed to us today. We are called not only to hear the words of Christ, but also to trust Him, obey His commandments, and allow His teaching to guide every area of our lives.
Throughout the program, we sang songs of praise to the Lord, prayed together, and shared warm and sincere conversations. The gathering was filled with love, joy, and genuine Christian fellowship, bringing encouragement and blessing to everyone present. At the conclusion of the program, we enjoyed refreshments prepared by one of our church members and presented the seniors and staff with calendars from our church.
